Greyhounds are low maintenance dogs. Their short fine coats do not require frequent bathing and is devoid of doggy odor. Use a hound glove to remove loose hair. Clipping the dog's nails, brushing its teeth and regular veterinary check-ups will be quite enough to keep your Greyhound well-groomed. Greyhounds - Health
Greyhounds are prone to bloat and kidney problems. To maintain the dog's digestive system in order, it is better to feed a greyhound 2 or 3 small meals a day rather than 1 large one. Hip dysplasia is relatively rare in Greyhounds. In general, the Greyhound is a remarkably healthy breed. However, these dogs are sensitive to
anesthetics and pesticides.
Greyhounds - Is This the Right Breed for You?
Greyhounds are big dogs. You should have a fenced yard for this natural runner. In order to enjoy a companionship of a calm Greyhound indoors, the dog must have its energy outlet in the yard. Greyhounds are not outside dogs. First of all, they are social animals and crave for human companionship. Secondly, they are not equipped for living outside. If your children are well behaved and know that a Greyhound should be respected, you are unlikely to have any problems connected with the dog's behavior with them. Greyhounds are for responsible owners who can devote sufficient amount of time to these aristocratic dogs.
