Greyhounds - General DescriptionGreyhounds are considered the fastest dog breed. As the AKC standard goes, the Greyhound's head should be long and narrow. The dog's eyes are rather dark, bearing an intelligent expression. The ears are small, thrown back and folded. The ears are semi-pricked when the dog is excited.
Height: 27-30 inches Weight: Males range from 65 to 70 pounds, females - from 60 to 65 pounds. Life Expectancy: 10-12 years Greyhounds - TemperamentThe Greyhound has a very gentle disposition. This breed is comprised of very pack-oriented dogs. Many Greyhounds retain a strong prey drive. This sometimes makes them unsuitable for houses with other pets. Greyhounds are quick learners and can be easily trained. If the Greyhound has been brought up in a family with children, it makes a tolerant and loving friend for the children. Greyhounds are non-aggressive. However, these elegant dogs may be obstinate at times. When indoors, these dogs are rather calm and sometimes even lazy. Greyhounds bond close with their family. On the whole, Greyhounds are known as sweet, sensitive and beautiful dogs with many talents.
